This folder contains ScrapConverter 1.0, which allows you to move FULLY STYLED text into and out of Nisus Writer using the clipboard. By default, Nisus Writer’s clipboard strips off all style information when switching into or out of the program. This fKey (or QuicKey) allows you to overcome this limitation.
ScrapConverter and its associated documentation were written by Koji Kajita. I have made the following changes to his offerings:
1. Changed the default fKey number from 5 to 4 (both in the code and in the documentation) so that it will not conflict with MailKeeper’s default fKey of command-shift-5.
2. Created a “suitcase” version of the fKey. This version can be installed simply by dragging it onto your closed System Folder and answering OK to the dialog asking if you want it to be put in your Fonts folder. By tricking the MacOS into believing this resource is a font, we avoid having to tamper with the System file, use ResEdit, or restart. Just pour it in, and it works! (You may need to quit and re-launch Nisus Writer, though, if it is already running.)
HELPFUL HINT: If you're going to be doing this a lot, consider recording a macro that first chooses "Copy", then "presses" command-shift-5. Assign this macro a keyboard shortcut of command-C. Now, whenever you copy using the keyboard, you're assured of getting your styled text—with no extra work!
